1. Who we are

2. What we collect
To deliver service and process bookings, we collect:
- Identity: first name, last name.
- Contact: email, phone number.
- Address: street address and postal code — used to route the crew and determine your service zone.
- Service preferences: the services and options you choose, access notes (e.g. gate code, dog in backyard), property type and size.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) and Vercel Web Analytics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
We do not collect payment card information ourselves — payment is taken on completion of service, not online.
3. How we use your information
- To confirm your booking and contact you about your visit.
- To dispatch the right crew to the right address at the right time.
- To send a one-time booking confirmation email (and, if you opted in, occasional seasonal updates — maximum 4 per year).
- To improve the service: aggregate, non-identifying statistics on conversion and drop-off.
- To meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations.
6. Data retention
We keep your booking records for as long as needed to provide the service plus 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of marketing preferences at any time. Records required by law (invoices, receipts) cannot be deleted before the retention period expires.
7. Your rights under PIPEDA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time.
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

8. Security
Data in transit is protected by HTTPS/TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel). Access to admin tools is restricted to authorized Tavial staff with multi-factor authentication on accounts with full data access.
9. Children
Tavial services are sold to homeowners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify customers by email.
